About Us

Faith, hope and love remain forever these three; and the greatest of these is love.

Paul's First Letter to the Corinthians

About the Groom:

Born to Sir & Lady Paul Ulasi in Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria, Chibuike is the second son in the family of six. He spent most of his adolescent years in Nigeria and relocated to the United States to seek a degree in computer and electrical engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Alabama. Meeting Chibuike Ulasi on the campus of UAB has been very refreshing as he brings much calmness and balance to my spontenous and energetic personality. I enjoy his warm personality, generosity, affection, and most especially his many great tasting dishes :) F.Y.I., Chibuike cooks one of the best Nigerian soups I ever have tasted. I am so blessed to have you in my life baby! -Chijioke Obi

About the Bride:

Chijioke Obi's life began when she was born to Engr. & Mrs. Chiedu Obi in Lagos, Nigeria.  Chijioke spent some of her younger years in Nigeria until she relocated to the United States with her family. She is energetic, fashion savvy, and focused. She has attained a number of educational accomplishments. Chijioke is a public health fellow at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at the U.S. Department of Transportation, in Washington, DC. I love Chijioke Obi, for many reasons, notably because she is God fearing, goal oriented, sexy, beautiful, and fun. She also keeps me on the go. Though obstinate, I cannot trade her for anything else. I love you baby! -Chibuike Ulasi

How We Met

Chibuike's Version:

It was the third week into the new fall semester in 2004. I came to the School of Public Health to help a friend buy a laptop online. Waiting outside, I noticed a student could not get into the building as well. Fortunately we were let in by another student. Suddenly I heard “Thank you Chi Chi.” Hummm. Is this the girl my friend had told me about who was her classmate from my home town and whom I was looking forward to meeting? I turned around and asked the student if her friend’s name is Chi Chi, and she said yes. I introduced my self to her friend and asked her if she was from Nnewi and she answered yes. I then asked her what town she was from and she told me. I was so pleased to finally meet the beautiful young lady from my hometown. We exchanged numbers and the rest is history.

Chijioke's Version:

I was working late in school's computer lab when I felt the urge to empty my bladder. As I approached the ladies, I noticed one of my classmates was locked out and beckoning on me to open the door for her. As I opened the door, I noticed a young man was sitting outside and waiting. He got up as soon as I opened the door & hastened into the building. Ok, who are you? I wandered. He was so excited when he heard my name called and he started asking personal questions. I felt a little unease at that time but later warmed up when I realized he was a brother- from my hometown in Nigeria. We exchanged numbers and the rest is history.
